Students Feeding Students
Privacy policy
Effective September 28, 2026
Students Feeding Students (SFS) is a program of the OPRF HS Mutual Aid Project. This page explains what information the SFS website and its cabinet feedback form handle. You do not need to give us your name or use the website to take food from a cabinet.
What we receive
- Cabinet feedback: When you scan a cabinet QR code and send feedback, we save the cabinet, the category you choose, any snack request or note you write, the time, and your name if you choose to include it. Please do not put private medical or financial details in the note.
- Inquiries and email: If you use the contact form, we save your name, email address, topic, message, and submission time in a private team inbox. If you email us, we receive your address and anything you include in the message.
- Program records: Authorized team members use a protected area to record cabinet checks, volunteer work, inventory, purchases, and donation information. Those records may include names, contact details, notes, and donation labels entered by the team.
- Website requests: Our hosting providers may process ordinary technical data, such as an IP address, browser information, requested pages, and time of access, to deliver and secure the site. Public pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives a request from your browser.
How we use it
We use feedback to restock and maintain cabinets, consider snack requests, and address concerns. We use inquiries to respond to the person who wrote us. We use program records to coordinate volunteers, account for supplies and donations, and prepare reviewed, combined impact figures. We use technical data to operate and protect the website. We do not sell cabinet feedback or volunteer information.
Cookies and local storage
The protected Mission Control area uses a session cookie to keep authorized team members signed in. Its normal session lasts up to 12 hours; choosing “remember me” can keep it for up to 30 days. The older, protected tracker can save an unlock key in the browser's local storage if an authorized user chooses that option. The public homepage and cabinet feedback form do not need an SFS sign-in cookie.
Google Analytics is not active unless SFS configures a GA4 Measurement ID. If enabled, Google may receive page views and device information to help us understand how people use the public pages. We will update this policy when analytics is enabled.
Who else handles information
Authorized SFS team members can see program records and submitted feedback. Hosting and other service providers process information needed to run the site. If you follow the donation link, Zeffy handles the donation on its own site; SFS does not receive your payment card number through this website. The team may record donation labels and amounts in its private program records. Instagram, the Wednesday Journal, Zeffy, and other linked sites have their own privacy practices.
Keeping and correcting records
Feedback and internal records remain in the program's systems until team administrators remove them; we have not set an automatic deletion period. Some donation or accounting records may need to be kept for recordkeeping. To ask about information you submitted, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, email [email protected]. Please include enough detail for us to find the record, but do not send sensitive information by ordinary email.
Students and changes to this policy
This program serves a high school community. We do not seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information through the site, contact us so we can review it. We may update this page when the site's practices change; the effective date above will show the latest update.
